I adore Dumbledore. He’s full of mysteries, but like a father, we all need him in our lives. Albus has said lots of wise and heartwarming words, and I like these ones above all:
“It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.”
As a 36-year-old man, I’ve learned it the hard way that every simple decision I make in my life can have a positive or negative consequence I cannot control afterward. We make hundreds of decisions daily that permanently change the path of our life’s journey.
“Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. Capable of both inflicting injury, and remedying it.”
Words are magical. A major difference between humans and animals is that we can speak. Even more importantly, we can heal or hurt others by our words.
“Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
Sometimes I feel my life is gloomy and miserable. What do I do then? I watch a good movie, listen to music, and call a friend. That’s how I turn on the light. And it’s also a decision. We must keep the lights on!
